At the University of Washington Center for Communities That Care, we coach communities across the country through an evidence-based, prevention science process that reduces levels of youth problems and helps them thrive. Communities That Care PLUS is our guided toolkit for using the CTC system, newly updated for today’s digital audiences.
A rigorous scientific trial demonstrated that young people from CTC communities were 25% to 33% less likely to have health and behavior problems than those from control communities.
Communities That Care PLUS is the product of years of prevention science research and collaboration with states and communities across the country. We help communities use the system, choose tested and effective programs tailored to your needs, and track progress over time. We’ll work with you to introduce a social development strategy that fosters the success of young people through every stage of development.
We are scientists and practitioners from The University of Washington’s Social Development Research Group – conducting rigorous, evidence-based prevention work for over three decades. We provide up-to-date high-quality training and technical assistance that supports the sustainable use of the Communities That Care PLUS system.
