CTC Gets a Strong Start in Michigan

The state of Michigan is currently supporting the birth of new CTC Coalitions with its 2013 Partnerships For Success (SPF-PFS II) grants. Communities across northern and mid-Michigan have already begun using Communities That Care to meet their youth substance abuse reduction goals—they include communities in the Upper Peninsula (Luce County), Roscommon County, Lake County, Saginaw County, Clare County, and Gladwin County. Six CTC Coordinators and their supervisors were trained in May 2013, and Key Leader Orientations for most of their communities took place soon after. As of September 2013, four of these communities have moved to Phase 3. Two other counties (Wayne and Baraga) are considering training in CTC this year.
